Our Mission Statement

“Believing in the imminent return of Christ, we desire to conduct ourselves as devoted followers of Him. We seek first to love and exalt God. We will also nurture, teach, encourage and love one another by the power of the Holy Spirit. We dedicate ourselves to sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ with our community and the world.”
Doctrinal Statement
This church accepts the scriptures as its final authority in matter of faith and practice. Its understanding of Christian truth, as contained therein, is in essential accord with the beliefs of Baptist churches, but it has no statement of creed apart from the New Testament.

I. God – We believe that there is only one God (Dt. 6:4, I Tim. 2:5). This one God has chosen to reveal Himself in three equal and eternal Persons: God the Father (Is. 64:8), God the Son (Jn. 1:1, 14) and God the Holy Spirit (Acts 5:3-4).

I. Jesus Christ – We believe that Jesus Christ is the divine Son of God. He is coequal with the Father and Holy Spirit as the second person of the trinity. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit (Luke 1:35) and born of the virgin Mary (Lk. 2:1-7; Matt. 1:25). After living a sinless life he was crucified on a cross to pay the penalty for the sins of the world (John 19:17-37; Heb. 4:14-16; I Pet. 2:24; I Jn. 2:2). Three days later he overcame death as he was resurrected from the grave (Matt. 28:1-8). Through His substitutionary death and resurrection he has provided man with the chance for eternal life. He is the only way to heaven (John 14:6). He eventually ascended into heaven to take His place at the right hand of the Father. (Acts 1:7-11; Heb. 1:3), where he remains as our intercessor (Rom. 8:34).

II. The Bible – We believe that all 66 books of the Bible were given by inspiration of God (II Tim. 3:16; II Pet. 1:20-21). We believe that God guided human authors so that they recorded without error, word for word, His message to mankind in the original writings. We are also convinced that God has preserved through the ages the integrity of the various manuscripts from which we get our modern translations. The Bible is our basis for truth and our guide for living.

III. Sin – We believe that every human being is born with a natural tendency to rebel against our Creator (Rom. 5:19a, Ps. 51:5). The Bible calls this sin. Scripture declares that every member of the human race is guilty of sin ( Rom. 3:9, 23). The end result of sin is spiritual death, separation from God (Rom. 6:23a; Ezek. 18:4; Rev. 20:14).

IV. Salvation – We believe that mankind without Jesus Christ is spiritually dead in terms of our relationship with God (Eph. 2:1-3); God loved people so much that He sent Jesus Christ to pay the price for our sins by the offering of His own life on the cross (Rom. 5:8, I Pet. 2:24, 3:18). We also hold to the fact that salvation is a gift offered by God and cannot be secured by our own efforts (Eph. 2:8-9, Gal.2:21); and that faith alone in Jesus Christ alone secures salvation from the penalty of our sins (Jn. 3:16-18, Rom. 10:9-10, Acts 4:12), We believe that the individual who has truly accepted by faith God’s gift of salvation is saved from their sins forever (Rom. 8:38-39, Jn. 10:27-30, Jude 24).

VI. Christ’s Return – We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ could return at any moment for His church where genuine believers, both living and dead, will be given an incorruptible body and transferred from earth to the presence of our Lord in Heaven. (I Thess. 4:15-18, I Cor. 15:50-54).
